Ingredients:

For the Tomato Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (for garnish)

For the Finishing Touch:

  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions:

1. Boil the Gnocchi:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a generous pinch of salt. Gently add the gnocchi to the boiling water and cook them until they float to the surface, which usually takes 2-4 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the cooked gnocchi and set them aside.
